Health: we upgrade medical infrastructure for our children
It is scientifically proven that the quality of the patient’s environment plays an important role during someone’s therapy. Thus, OPAP focused on renovating and reforming the therapeutic environment of two pediatric hospitals, “Aghia Sophia” and “Panagiotis & Aglaia Kyriacou”, using creativity and imagination to build a pleasant therapeutic environment for children, their parents and improve the working conditions for the medical and nursing staff. The project represents a significant investment in public health, in the framework of which 30 renovation works were carried out, across an area of 14,960 sq. meters in total, including 23 nursing units with a capacity of 564 beds. In the renovated nursing units we completed all the needed construction and decoration works, entirely upgrading them.

Sports: building the future of sports on solid foundations
By investing in children, OPAP invests in the future of sports itself. Through the innovative program “OPAP Sports Academies”, we deal with the sensitive theme of youth sports in an integrated and multi-faceted way, aiming to breathe into children the principles that they will follow for the rest of their life. Today the program, which launched in 2014 with football academies and in 2019 was extended to basketball academies, supports 200 Amateur Academies in 49 Greek Prefectures and stands by the side of 25.000 young athletes. In parallel, OPAP continuously reinforces the technical expertise of the Academies’ coaches, through educational seminars, offering a significant end value to the children themselves. Last but not least, it supports parents with the program’s scientific team, offering them guidance and advice, on a medical, psychological and nutritional level.
